Tyler Savitsky
Senior Associate
Tyler joins Romulus Capital following a professional soccer career, during which he played for Næstved Boldklub of Denmark’s 1st Division and Birmingham Legion FC of the USL. Tyler finds that many of the habits he acquired while playing soccer since the age of 4 are applicable to being a successful investor; such as how his experience representing himself, instead of using an agent, and finding his own trial opportunities in foreign countries gave him the tool set needed to successfully source deals.
Tyler has previous work experience in the startup world; working for a medical education startup to program modules for their ultrasound training simulator and on their international sales and marketing teams.
A Harvard undergrad concentrating in Sociology with a foreign language citation in Spanish, Tyler was a student-athlete, member of the Harvard College Consulting Group and selected for the Romulus Capital campus accelerator program, where he discovered his knack for venture capital.
Outside of work, where can you be found?
Staying active by playing sports with friends, going on hikes, at the beach and enjoying the fantasy and sci-fi genres.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Nobody is going to fight for you harder than you. If you desire an outcome, insert yourself into the fray and forge your own path towards it. Assert control over your destiny.
What inspires you?
People who take risks and take action. I am always wowed by people who say they are going to do something and then immediately go out and do it. There are a lot of talkers and wishful thinkers in the world and not enough doers. It is always inspiring to see someone taking action, making mistakes, learning, growing and achieving their goals one step at a time.
